I sold first rights of this photo to Country magazine. It ran in a fall issue a couple years back. This church is in a small rural Oregon town called Shedd. Don’t laugh – I lived in Shedd for 20 years and visited this chuch many times. I went to services there, baby showers, birthday parties and funerals. It’s no longer in use. The congregation dwindled and they combined with the Halsey Methodist Church. The church building, along with the house next door, are for sale. The church has a historical landmarker. I hope someone buys it soon and puts this beautiful old building to good use. Maybe an art studio or gallery?

I just learned that the church has sold. There will be a “Fill Your Pantry” sales event held inside on November 12.
