These five deer bounced down a bank and crossed a snow-covered Rock Hill Drive in front of my pickup in Lebanon, Oregon last Wednesday. The deer seemed confused by all the unexpected spring snow. They trotted across the road, leaped a fence into a pasture and bounced through the field.
These aren’t really reindeer, of course, they’re black tails. But when the deer went leaping and bounding across the field with all four feet off the ground at once, I had to agree with my sons. From their backseat booster seats, my boys both said the herd looked like reindeer in the snow.
Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas. In March!
