My family went on an overnight trip to Florence, Oregon over spring break, and this old wooden post spoke to me. It was sticking up out of the Siuslaw River (SIGH-oos-law). It was part of an historical ferry pier.

Aged, weather-worn, knotted.

I can see faces in it. History. Stories.

Can you?
